Barbie superfans will soon have a chance to dine Barbie-style thanks to two new pop-up restaurants set to open this spring.
As we await the debut of the Barbie live-action movie, Barbie fans in New York City and Chicago will have the chance to experience eating inside the Malibu Barbie Cafe just in time for summer!
Inspired by the “groovy beachside energy of 1970s Malibu, California,” the pop-up restaurants will feature an all-day brunch, desserts, drinks and more with a menu created by
MasterChef star Becky Brown.
“We are delighted to announce the opening of The Malibu Barbie Cafe, a truly unique dining experience that celebrates Barbie and all the brand represents,” Julie Freeland, Mattel’s Senior Director of Location Based Entertainment, said in a news release. “At Mattel we are always looking for exciting, new ways to bring the Barbie experience to life. From the beach-loving décor to the menu, every detail has been thoughtfully designed to celebrate the iconic Barbie style, with nostalgic details fans will love.”
The New York location will open on May 17, and the Chicago cafe is set to open to guests on June 7. The pop-ups will be open through September 15. Tickets for the Malibu Barbie Cafe start at $35 for kids and $50 for adults, including a reserved seat, dining time, and one entree. Tickets will go on sale on April 19.
