Argentina’s Inaugural LGBTQ Cruise to Antarctica Sells Out in Record Time!

Argentina has announced it will become the home port for the first-ever LGBTQ+ cruise to Antarctica in December 2022.

Organized by LGBT+ travel company, Vacaya, the 10-night cruise will depart from Argentina’s southernmost city, Ushuaia, aboard the Ponant Le Boréal vessel. Before departing, guests will spend one night in Argentina’s capital city of Buenos Aires.
“Ever since my first trip to Antarctica in 2015, it’s been my personal mission to bring our community together there. Partnering with our host cruise line, Ponant, has allowed us to make this dream come true,” VACAYA co-founder Randle Roper said in a press release. “This trip is truly the ultimate bucket list trip for most people and now VACAYA has the honor of helping our guests live out their dreams. And to add one of the greatest cities in the world – Buenos Aires, Argentina – into the mix makes it that much sweeter.”

According to TravelPulse, Argentina has some of the most progressive LGBT+ laws in the world, with the country formally legalizing same-sex adoption in 2010 and passing the Gender Equality Law in 2012.
Although the cruise sold out in record time, Vacaya does currently have a waitlist for other Antarctica cruises.
