Although the mask mandate for Broadway Theaters has been extended, the Broadway League announced several Broadway shows will be dropping the vaccine requirement for theatergoers in May.

Currently, all theatergoers aged five and up are required to show proof of vaccination when going to see a Broadway show.
“While masking mandates will remain in place at all Broadway theatres through at least May 31, many theatres may no longer require that audience members provide proof of vaccination,” the Broadway League announced via its website. “Please consult the show website or point of purchase for information about proof of vaccination requirements for your show.”

The league announced many shows will “no longer check vaccination status after April 30, 2022.”
