CDC Warns Tourists to Avoid These Countries

The CDC is warning tourists to avoid travel to France, Portugal, Cyprus, and Jordan among others amid rising coronavirus cases in those countries.

According to a news release from the health agency, the CDC has issued a “level 4” recommendation for Portugal, France, Jordan, Cyprus, Andorra, Liechtenstein, and Tanzania, urging people if they do need to travel to the countries they should be fully vaccinated before doing so.
“Fully vaccinated travelers are less likely to get and spread COVID-19. However, international travel poses additional risks, and even fully vaccinated travelers might be at increased risk for getting and possibly spreading some COVID-19 variants,” the CDC said via its website.

According to USA Today, “level 4” destinations have more than 500 new cases per 100,000 people over the past 28 days or more than 500 cases total if their population is less than 100,000.
