Christmas and New Year is Expected to be Busiest Travel on Record

A new report from AAA reveals that this year’s holiday season is expected to be the busiest on record for airports nationwide.
AAA’s year-end travel forecast covers the ten-day period over Christmas and New Year, revealing a bumper holiday travel period with an expected 7.5 million travelers by air – topping the previous record of 7.3 million air travelers in 2019.
AAA predicts 115 million Americans are set to travel 50 miles or more over the festive season, with most travelers reaching their destination by road.
The busiest travel days on the roads look to be Saturday, December 23, and Thursday, December 28.
Minimal traffic is expected on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.
