Costa Rica to Fully Reopen to Tourists in November

Costa Rica will be welcoming tourists back in November by fully reopening its borders.

The country will reopen on November 1st to travelers from all countries and, as of October 26, will no longer require proof of a negative COVID test.

“Basically, tourism is about a tenth of our economy,” said Gustavo J. Segura, Costa Rica’s tourism minister. “We really needed economic reactivation. Through this gradual process, we’ve been able to prove international travel is not a problem.”
According to Forbes, Segura, announced the removal of restrictions, laying out what visitors to the country will need to travel with instead.

Costa Rica will now require all tourists to complete an electronic form requiring them to agree with all Costa Rican Ministry of Health regulations. The form will then give travelers a Health Pass and QR code to enter the country.

Travelers must also obtain travel health insurance that covers COVID-related expenses. Forbes reports travelers can either purchase their own insurance or buy it from Costa Rica’s National Insurance Institute via the Health Pass website.
