Israel Opens Up to Unvaccinated Tourists

Not vaccinated? No problem! Tourists will soon be able to visit Israel without having to be vaccinated for COVID-19.

As the country sees a steady decline in morbidity data, Israel’s Prime Minister Naftali Bennet said foreign tourists will be welcome back to the country regardless of vaccination status. Both vaccinated and unvaccinated visitors to Israel will be required to take a PCR covid test prior to boarding their flight and upon arrival.
“We are seeing a constant decline in morbidity data, so it’s time to gradually open up,” Prime Minister Bennet said in a statement.

According to the New York Times, Israel has seen a 63 percent decline in new COVID cases over the past two weeks.

The country is also easing up restrictions on Israeli nationals, who will no longer need to show proof of a negative test prior to boarding their flights and will only need to take a PCR test once they land in Israel.

The new rules regarding travel go into effect on March 1.
