JetBlue will become one of the first airlines to test facial recognition systems.

The airline announced they will be testing the new system at Logan airport starting in June.

Passengers flying from Logan airport to Aruba on JetBlue will be photographed at the gate instead of presenting boarding passes. The facial images will then be checked against passenger passport or visa information on file, and those with successful matches will be able to board without showing a ticket or passport. A screen above the camera will let passengers know if they are cleared to board.

Delta Airlines have announced they plan to test out facial recognition systems at four Minneapolis-St.Paul kiosks this summer, allowing passengers to check their own baggage.
