Kings Island is expanding its Planet Snoopy area – and adding a new family-friendly roller coaster for younger thrill-seekers!
The Cincinnati theme park revealed that ‘Camp Snoopy’ will be an adventure play space where kids can engage with “Peanuts” characters and enjoy family time in the great outdoors.
As
USA Today reported, Kings Island has unveiled a new section that will house its latest coaster, Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers. This ride is the park’s first boomerang coaster suitable for families. When the ride begins, passengers will plummet down a 70-foot drop, signaled by Snoopy waving the checkered flag. As the cars approach the end of the track, they will suddenly reverse and launch backward along the racetrack.
“We’ve designed this new immersive area to feel like a day at camp where families can spend time with each other in a variety of ways,” said Mike Koontz, vice president and general manager of Kings Island, in a statement reported by
USA Today.
Along with the recently added coaster, children can enjoy the shaded Beagle Scout Acres, where they can have fun and explore various camping equipment and grassy areas. Kids can even take a pledge as Beagle Scouts and earn merit badges for their helpfulness and sharing skills. The classic “Peanuts” characters will lead them through different daily activities, allowing parents to unwind and relax.
