Norwegian Extends Vaccine Requirement Indefinitely

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced its plans to extend its 100 percent vaccine requirement indefinitely on its Norwegian, Oceania, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

During the company’s third-quarter earnings call, Norwegian’s CEO and president Frank Del Rio revealed, “We have indefinitely extended our 100 percent vaccine requirement. I think that today that continues to be a competitive advantage for our three brands.”
Norwegian Cruise Line requires all passengers and crew to be fully vaccinated at least two weeks prior to boarding.

Up until now Norwegian’s 100 percent vaccine requirement – with no exemptions – has meant families with unvaccinated children have been unable to sail. However, with the CDC approving the vaccine for five to eleven-year-olds, families can once again set sail aboard a Norwegian vessel.

“It will allow for an expanded group of 100 percent vaccinated guests,” Del Rio told USA Today.

“We will keep mandating the vaccine mandate as long as the science dictates that it is the right way to operate – the right way to keep people healthy,” Del Rio told WLRN Miami. “I believe that the average American who wants to go on a cruise would prefer to go on a cruise knowing that everyone around them is vaccinated.”
