The Norwegian
Viva, the second ship in Norwegian Cruise Line’s Prima class, has embarked on her maiden voyage!
The new cruise ship departed from Trieste, Italy, on a nine-day maiden voyage that will conclude in Lisbon, Portugal. The
Viva will be cruising around the Mediterranean and Greek islands until November, after which it will be homeported in San Juan, Puerto Rico, for a year of Caribbean sailings. In May 2024, the Viva will return to Europe to cruise the Mediterranean itineraries once again.
“This summer, our guests will have the opportunity to explore Europe aboard our newest magnificent vessel, Norwegian Viva, while enjoying its well-appointed spacious design, elevated experiences, expansive culinary offerings and signature Norwegian Cruise Line hospitality provided by the best crew in the industry,” said David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line. “Norwegian Viva‘s tagline is ‘Live it Up,’ and I have no doubt our guests will be doing just that while they cruise to some of the liveliest cities in Europe and the Caribbean during the ship’s inaugural season.”
The Viva was designed to resemble its sister ship, the Norwegian Prima, which debuted last summer. Some of its notable features include a three-level Viva Speedway go-kart racetrack, the Indulge food hall with 11 different eateries, the Drop and Rush dry slides, and the Metropolitan Bar, which offers zero-waste cocktails. For entertainment, the ship will feature “Beetlejuice The Musical” and the game show “Press Your Luck Live.”
