A plane expert has issued a safety warning for people who like to wear leggings on flights – and the alarm may surprise you.
According to the Mirror, aviation expert Christine Negroni has revealed you should be checking what materials your travel outfit is made of, just in case you need to leave the plane in an emergency.
While leggings and athleisure wear may be extremely comfortable travel attire, according to Negroni, the artificial fibers could be cause for concern during an emergency.
“You might have to escape through a cabin fire or there could be a separate fire on the ground once you leave the aircraft,” Negroni told the Mirror.
“Everyone is wearing yoga pants on planes now, but I avoid all artificial fibers because they are more likely to burn and stick to you if there is a fire.”
Instead, Negroni told the Mirror she sticks to natural fibers like cotton instead.
“Pick sneakers over high heels, pick natural fibers over synthetic, and take tight-fitting clothes over loose-fitting,” Negroni recommends.
