With international travel still pretty much off the books this fall, why not bring travel closer to home and plan a fall foliage trip!

While the U.S. is home to plenty of places to soak up some absolutely gorgeous Autumnal scenery, Gatlinburg is about to open something that should make any fall foliage extravaganza sensational.

According to Southern Living, Gatlinburg Skybridge Park is adding a new scenic trail just in time for fall!
The 0.3 mile SkyTrail will connect both sides of the SkyBridge, allowing guests to experience the longest pedestrian-only suspension bridge in North America and placing them, literally, amongst the fall colored leaves of Crockett Mountain.
“From the trail you’ll have great views of the world-famous SkyBridge and be able to fully appreciate the length and height of the bridge, with the Great Smoky Mountains towering in the distance,” the website reveals. “The trail can be walked in either direction, with the east side constructed of a wooden boardwalk and the west side a paved pathway. The full length of the SkyTrail is an enjoyable experience for adults and kids alike.”

“The SkyTrail will open to the public in Fall 2020, and will be expanded later in the fall season to include covered rest areas with interpretive signage to learn more about the SkyBridge, SkyLift, and wildfires that swept through the area in 2016,” the website shares.
