Royal Caribbean has become the latest cruise line given the all-clear to sail, with the CDC giving its Freedom of the Seas ship the green light to hit the open waters.

Following a successful three-day, two-night test voyage with 650 employees on board, the Freedom of the Seas will depart Miami on Friday for a July 4th weekend cruise to the Bahamas with stops in Nassau and Royal Caribbean’s own private island of CocoCay.
Following Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ executive order preventing the cruise industry from mandating proof of a COVID vaccination, Royal Caribbean announced that all unvaccinated passengers departing from Florida ports will be required to have travel insurance. According to CNBC, the policies must cover all unvaccinated guests over the age of 12 with at least $25,000 per person in medical expense coverage and $50,000 per person for quarantine and medical evacuation related to a positive COVID test.

Royal Caribbean announced on Tuesday it will require proof of vaccination from all ports except Florida.

According to RoyalCaribbeanBlog, all vaccinated passengers onboard its Freedom of the Seas cruise will be issued wristbands to show they are vaccinated and allowing them access to venues reserved for vaccinated passengers only.
