Spain Sets Record for International Visitors in 2023

Spain was a hot tourist destination in 2023 – so hot that the country received a record number of international tourists.
According to the Associated Press, Spain welcomed 85.1 million international visitors last year, surpassing the previous record of 83.5 million set in 2019.
Top destinations for tourists in Spain were the northeastern region of Catalonia, including Barcelona, followed by the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands off the coast of Africa.
The AP reports that the UK, France and Germany sent the highest number of visitors to Spain in 2023.
