The much-anticipated Icon of the Seas has finally arrived in PortMiami, ready to embark on her first official cruise on January 27.
1,198-foot-long ship with a capacity of 5,610 guests entered Government Cut close to 7 a.m., meeting its pilot boat, then docking at PortMiami. The Royal Caribbean vessel, the largest cruise ship in the world, was welcomed with fanfare by air, land, and sea, as local residents and Royal Caribbean fans, executives, and employees were on hand as the first to see Miami’s newest resident.
Greeted with celebratory fireboat salutes, Icon will continue making its final preparations in Miami ahead of an iconic naming celebration and first cruise.
From January 27, tourists can embark on a tropical island-hopping adventure on the Icon ship any time of the year. The 7-night trip to the Eastern or Western Caribbean from Miami includes visits to stunning Caribbean destinations and a day of adventure and relaxation at Royal Caribbean’s award-winning private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas. Additionally, in January 2024, Perfect Day will open its first adults-only escape, Hideaway Beach, which features a private beach and pools, exclusive cabanas, live music, and several dedicated spots for drinks and bites.
The Icon of the Seas features eight neighborhoods, seven pools with the first suspended infinity pool at sea, and adrenaline-pumping thrills like six record-breaking waterslides at Category 6 and the Crown’s Edge experience at 154 feet above the ocean. With over 40 restaurants and bars, including two dueling piano bars, the Icon of the Seas is a destination in and of itself!
