This Chinese City Looks Like A Scene From ‘Frozen’

Every year tourists flock to Harbin, China, the country’s coldest and northernmost province. The city is home to The Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival, which attracts talented ice sculptors from around the world to partake in the international ice sculpture competition.

The festival takes place from Jan. 5 – Feb. 25 where visitors can witness an ice city come to life. During the festival, one can visit and walk through the winter wonderland of large ice castles. The surroundings prove to be so magical, over a dozen couples chose to get married among the ice sculptures in a mass wedding ceremony.

Sculptors use swing saws to carve ice into blocks and tools such as chisels, ice picks and saws to build their creations.

For $499, visitors can book a 3-day pass which includes theme parks of the ice festival and full access to the snow and ice sculptures representative of different cultures. Package includes accommodations, transportation, private tours and meals.
