As coronavirus cases surge around the globe, one Disney Park will close completely for at least two weeks – with no reopening date set.

According to InsideTheMagic, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort announced they would be shuttering up the park to guests on January 7 and will stay closed for at least two weeks.
The difficult decision to close comes as coronavirus cases surge in Hong Kong, with Reuters reporting authorities fear a fifth wave of infections. Flights into Hong Kong from eight countries will be banned for two weeks beginning on January 8, including those from the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, India, Pakistan, and the Philippines.

“As required by the government and in line with preventive efforts taking place across Hong Kong, Hong Kong Disneyland park will temporarily close from January 7 to 20. Guests who planned to visit the Park on above dates are advised to visit on another day. HKDL has been in close contact with the relevant government departments and will continue to implement health and safety measures with reference to their guidelines to promote health and safety of our guests and cast members,” management said in a statement reported by Variety.

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort is home to Disneyland Park and hotels, including Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, Disney Explorers Lodge, and Disney’s Hollywood Hotel.
