It can be hard to capture the perfect selfie as a group of tourists in the Italian city of Venice found out when their gondola capsized.
According to USA Today, a video of the incident circling on social media showed the group standing up in the gondola as they attempted to snap some selfies, despite warnings from the gondolier.
Sadly, their efforts landed them in the water with their gondola completely upside down near a bridge along the Rio de la Verona canal.
To make matters worse, USA Today reports the canal water is far from sanitary. According to the news outlet, the canals are cleaned about every decade or so and are full of human waste and trash.
