Traveling to Canada is about to get a whole lot easier – if you’re vaccinated!

Beginning April 1, vaccinated visitors to Canada will no longer need a pre-departure test to enter the country, nor will they be required to have a booster shot in order to be considered fully vaccinated.

“With our high vaccination rates and our focus on health and safety, Canada has a huge advantage in attracting visitors because they know it’s safe to travel to Canada,” Canada’s Minister of Tourism, Randy Boissonnault, told USA Today.

Unvaccinated travelers can still visit Canada under certain circumstances and their journey to the Great North will be a little more complicated than vaccinated tourists.

Visitors who have not received both doses of a COVID vaccine must take a coronavirus test before and after arrival into Canada and quarantine for 14 days.

According to USA Today, all travelers to Canada must use the ArriveCAN app, or website to enter the country. Vaccinated arrivals may be randomly selected to take a post-arrival COVID test, but will not need to quarantine whilst awaiting the results.
