Two American tourists found a unique way to sleep off a night of drunken shenanigans – inside Paris’ famed Eiffel Tower!
According to CBS News, the pair spent the night in a spot normally closed to the public between the tower’s second and third levels after dodging security the night before.
The men were awoken from their drunken slumber just before the Eiffel Tower opened to the public at 9 a.m.
According to French police, the intoxicated pair had paid for an entry ticket around 10:40 p.m. and then hopped security barriers while climbing down the stairs from the tower’s top.
However, they then “appear to have got stuck because of how drunk they were,” Paris prosecutors told the AFP.
While the men didn’t “pose any apparent threat,” the hard-partying pair were brought to a local police station for questioning, and Eiffel Tower operator Sete said they would file a criminal complaint.
