As countries start the slow process of opening back up to foreign tourists, the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, revealed vaccinated US tourists will most likely be able to visit European Union countries this summer.

In an interview with the New York Times, von der Leyen announced that “free movement and the travel to the European Union” would be possible since the U.S. is administering “European Medicines Agency-approved vaccines.”

“All 27 member states will accept, unconditionally, all those who are vaccinated with vaccines that are approved by E.M.A.,” von der Leyen said.

While the EU has yet to announce a detailed plan or anticipated date for reopening to US visitors, all three vaccines administered in the USA have been approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
