Virgin Voyages have announced they will require all passengers and crew to get the COVID-19 vaccine prior to sailing.

The company announced the new ruling on Tuesday making it the first ocean-going cruise line to commit to fully vaccinated cruises on all of its ships, USA Today reports.

The adult-only cruise line, which had its maiden voyage delayed due to COVID, now has its first ship, Scarlet Lady, scheduled to set sail in July.
“Our goal is to ensure that we’re providing the safest travel experience, which means vaccinations for both our crew and passengers,” Virgin Voyages President and CEO Tom McAlpin said in a statement reported by USA Today. “This is a step toward the safe return to sailing and is the right decision for Virgin Voyages. We’re really encouraged by the latest rollout plans in the May time frame from the new administration, and we know the future is about vaccinations.”
