Nearly 34,000 visitors to Shanghai Disneyland were locked down over the weekend after the park learned a recent visitor had tested positive for COVID-19.

The theme park announced late Sunday they would not be allowing any more visitors through the gates and immediately went into lockdown so that mass testing of the guests and employees already inside Shanghai Disneyland could take place.

According to USA Today, nearly 34,000 people were stuck inside the park waiting for the results of their COVID-19 tests. Fortunately, all 33,863 people tested negative but will be asked to test again and monitor their health.

The lockdown is just one example of how seriously China is taking its zero-tolerance pandemic prevention strategy to combat the spread of COVID-19.

Shanghai Disney Resort’s official website revealed both Shangai Disneyland and Disneytown would remain closed on Monday and Tuesday, revealing, “we will notify guests as soon as we have a confirmed date to resume operations.”
