American Airlines To Remove First Class Seating

American Airlines is set to get rid of first-class seating on long-haul flights due to lack of demand, per reports.
“First class will not exist on the 777, American Airlines Chief Commercial Officer Vasu Raja said in an investor call on Thursday. “Our customers aren’t buying it.”
The airline in September announced its new Flagship Suite business class seats, which feature a privacy door and lie-flat bed.
The Flagship Suite seats will be included on Airbus A321XLR and Boeing 787-9 aircraft beginning in 2024, the company said.
The Boeing 777-300ER fleet, meanwhile, will be “refreshed” to include Flagship Suites.
The airline said premium seating on its long-haul fleet will grow more than 45 percent by 2026.
