Although Disney World is currently closed until further notice thanks to COVID-19, the Orlando theme park is still purchasing nearby land, including an additional 26 acres near Magic Kingdom.

According to TravelPulse, the Orlando Business Journal reports “an entity related to Burbank, California-based The Walt Disney Co., Celebration Co. purchased 26.3 acres on the southeastern shore of Reedy Lake from Winter Garden-based Lake Reedy Development Group LLC for $1.05 million on Tuesday.”

Travel Pulse reports the deal comes just months after the company purchased an adjacent 235 acres from Lake Reedy LLC for $6 million.

No official word from Disney confirming the purchase, or what plans they have for the acreage.
