Hawaii May Require Booster Shots to be Considered Fully Vaccinated

Visitors to Hawaii may soon need to show proof of a booster shot in order to be considered fully vaccinated.

According to CNN, Hawaii’s Governor David Ige announced his office is seriously considering adding the change to the state’s Safe Travels program revealing visitors will need to show proof that they have received the booster shot in order to skip the traveler quarantine.

“We know that the community needs time to react to that, so we would have to provide at least two weeks for those who may not be up to date to go to have the opportunity to go and get vaccinated if they need to,” Governor Ige said in a statement.

Hawaii’s current travel regulations allow for visitors to skip quarantine with proof of two COVID vaccinations, or a negative test.
