Iceland Removes all COVID-19 Travel Restrictions

Iceland has removed all COVID-19 travel restrictions pertaining to both vaccinated and unvaccinated arrivals.

Incoming travelers to Iceland will no longer have to provide proof of vaccination, with the country’s tourism department revealing “We look forward to welcome visitors and share all the wonders that Iceland has to offer.”
Travelers to the country will no longer need to present proof of a negative COVID test taken prior to arrival, nor will they need to test upon arrival or quarantine.

“All official epidemiological measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic will be lifted, both domestically and at the border,” Iceland’s Health Ministry said in a press release. “This eliminates all rules on restrictions on gathering and schooling, as well as the requirement for isolation of those infected with COVID-19.”

The move is good news for Iceland’s official airline, Icelandair, which just launched a Spring Fare sale with roundtrip flights starting at just $379.

According to AFAR, the sale runs through March 8th and allows travelers to book flights from Boston, Chicago, and Anchorage to Dublin, Oslo, and Amsterdam for less than the normal ticket price – and, as with all Icelandair flights, passengers can add a free Iceland stopover to any itinerary.
