Supply chain issues have delayed the official launch of Margaritaville at Sea by two weeks.
Passengers were originally scheduled to set sail on April 30 aboard the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise on a cruise from Palm Beach, Florida to Grand Bahama Island. However, shipping delays have pushed back the inaugural sailing to May 14th with multiple cruises canceled.
The Florida-based Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line announced in December their ship, Grand Classica, would be rebranded to Margaritaville Paradise of Margaritaville at Sea. The multi-million dollar renovation incorporates Jimmy Buffett’s Parrothead tropical vibes, courtesy of his Margaritaville company.
“Margaritaville at Sea will be a new, exciting, and fun way for guests to escape and vacation in Margaritaville,” said John Cohlan, CEO of Margaritaville in a press release at the time. “From oceans to lakes, Margaritaville has an organic tie to the water and with Margaritaville at Sea, we’re able to put our iconic lifestyle, resort experiences, and elevated service directly on the sea. We look forward to seeing guests on, and in, Paradise.”
According to ThePointsGuy, as a result of the delay, six sailings in early May have been canceled. Passengers have been given “the opportunity to cancel and receive a full refund or rebook on any future sailing and receive a complimentary cabin. Any money held on the original booking for the stateroom charge will be provided as an onboard credit.”
