As search and rescue teams from around the country arrive in Miami to help search the site of the Surfside condo collapse, Royal Caribbean has stepped up to provide housing for them aboard their Explorer of the Seas cruise ship.

According to numerous media outlets, Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas will accommodate up to 600 first responders, including search dogs.
“This tragedy in our backyard is heart-wrenching,” Royal Caribbean Group Chairman and CEO Richard Fain told WTVJ-TV. “Our thoughts are with the families and our whole community, and our thanks go out to the hardworking search and rescue teams.”

“Providing them shelter is a small way to show our support,” Fain said.

The company said they will provide individual staterooms, hot meals, laundry service, and Wi-Fi for the first responders staying on board the ship.
