As the demand for luxury hotels increases, hoteliers around the globe are creating out-of-this-world experiences for their super-rich customers. From private NBA-size courts, to a chauffeur-driven Rolls Royce fleet, here are five of the most luxurious hotels in the world.
Burj Al Arab Hotel, Dubai
Its iconic shape makes it one of the most photographed hotels in the world. Designed to resemble a sail billowing in the wind, the Burj Al Arab may look stunning from the outside, but it’s what guests can expect inside that makes it truly luxurious.
All of the rooms are two floor suites offering incredible views. Each suite comes complete with a 4-carat gold iPad, a 21 inch Mac and complimentary WiFi. Guests can arrive at the hotel – located on its own private island – via its fleet of chauffeur driven Rolls Royce vehicles, or by its helicopter service to the attached helipad.
The hotel offers an array of 9 different restaurants, a Sky View Bar, infinity pools and a full-service spa.
Past guests of the Burj Al Arab include Kendall Jenner, David and Victoria Beckham, Tom Cruise and royalty from around the globe.
Royal Penthouse, Hotel President Wilson, Geneva, Switzerland
Located near the United Nations building on Lake Geneva, the Hotel President Wilson has seen its fair share of foreign dignitaries and political power-players. Believed to be one of the most expensive hotel suites in the whole world, the Royal Penthouse comes in at a staggering 18,000 square feet consisting of 12 bedrooms, a private gym, jacuzzi and terrace. Spanning the hotel’s entire eighth floor Royal Penthouse guests also get a personal chef, butler and security team. Security is so tough in fact the windows on the Royal Penthouse are bulletproof, security cameras line the entrance and entry doors are steel lined. And if anyone should be able to break through the numerous security barriers, panic buttons are installed in the suite alerting hotel security immediately.
Aside from royalty and presidents, other guests include Richard Branson, Rihanna, Michael Douglas and Bill Gates.
The Raj Palace Hotel, Jaipur, India
The Raj Palace hotel in Jaipur Rajasthan, India was once a palace – and if it’s good enough for a Maharaja it’s good enough for its millionaire guests. Converted into a hotel, the Raj Palace offers true luxury with its Shahi Mahal suite, which spans four floors and has its own private entrance. The decor oozes opulence with gold-leaf finishings, ivory, and Italian marble floors plus the suite comes complete with a private library, theatre and full kitchen staff.
Marden Palace Hotel, Turkey
The Marden Palace Hotel in Antalya, Turkey cost an amazing $1.5 billion to build. Completed in 2009 by Russian Billionaire Telman Ismailov, the hotel is deemed one of the most luxurious in Europe. The hotel features the largest pool in the whole of the Mediterranean and it can accommodate 1000 swimmers, who when not swimming can lounge on the 9,000 tons of white sand brought in especially from Egypt. The hotel offers an array of expensive suites, ten restaurants, a spa and a sunken aquarium full of tropical fish. Guests also get to experience a swimming reef and amphitheater.

The Plaza, New York City
Built in 1907, the famous Plaza Hotel in New York City has been the top choice for politicians, royalty and celebrities over the year, especially its Royal Plaza Suite. The three bedroom, three bathroom suite offers stunning views across Manhattan and comes complete with white-glove butler service. Guests of the famed Royal Plaza Suite can experience a private library, gym, grand piano and private elevator.
The hotel is located just steps away from designer shops, but guests don’t even have to leave the confines of the hotel since The Plaza features its own designer boutiques and the infamous Plaza Food Hall showcasing luxury global cuisine. Hotel guests get to experience various on-site restaurants, a spa, salon, gym and the famous afternoon tea at The Palm Court.
