Portugal Wins Big at Travel Awards Ceremony

Portugal has long been a top travel destination for Europeans looking to soak up the sun and scenery on its Mediterranean beaches and it looks like that trend continues to grow.
The country was just named ‘Europe’s Leading Travel Destination’ for 2017 at the World Travel Awards Europe.

The country also racked up ‘Europe’s Best Beach Destination’ for its Algarve region of the country and the Portuguese island of Madeira in the Atlantic Ocean was named ‘Leading Island Destination’ for Europe.
