Shrek fans can now stay in the ogre’s infamous swamp home, courtesy of a listing with Airbnb!
Nestled in the Scottish Highlands, Shrek’s swampy abode will house up to three lucky guests who will be able to stay free of charge in the home from October 27-29 – although they will need to cover transportation costs to and from Scotland.
“Shrek’s Swamp is lovely. Just beautiful. The perfect place to entertain guests,” Shrek’s friend Donkey – who just so happens to be house-sitting while the ogre is away – said in a news release. “You know what I like about it? Everything. The overgrown landscaping, the modest interiors, the nice boulders, all of it. I can’t wait for guests to experience this muddy slice of paradise for themselves.”
Guests can request to book Shrek’s Swamp starting Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. Eastern time, but “in order to request to book this stay, guests must have an active Airbnb profile, agreement to the Airbnb Terms of Service and acknowledgement of the Airbnb Privacy Policy, with a good track record on the platform,” Airbnb said in a press release.
Guests also have to be able to provide a government-issued ID, and must submit a complete message upon requesting the booking including information about who will be joining. All fellow travelers must be at least 5 years old.
In the press release, Airbnb revealed it will also make a donation to HopScotch Children’s Charity, which provides trips to vulnerable and disadvantaged kids.
