Airbnb to House 100,000 Ukrainian Refugees for Free

Airbnb’s non-profit arm, Airbnb.org, has vowed to house up to 100,000 Ukrainian refugees for free.

The rental company’s CEO, Brian Chesky, revealed via Twitter that Airbnb and Airbnb.org are working with hosts to house the refugees forced to flee their homeland due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
In a letter sent to the leaders of Poland, Romania, Germany and Hungary, Airbnb offered support in welcoming refugees within their borders.

“We know that Hosts and guests on Airbnb around the world will be eager to stand up and assist this massive effort to help those feeling Ukraine,” Airbnb shared via its website.

Over the past five years, Airbnb and Airbnb.org have connected more than 54,000 refugees and asylees to short-term housing through Airbnb.org partners and in 2020 Hosts on Airbnb around the world opened their doors to COVID-19 frontline workers.
