Flight compensation company AirHelp has unveiled their annual best and worst airlines in the world based on three criteria.
The company took a look at the quality of amenities, on-time arrivals, and how well each airline resolves flight delay compensation claims to rank the winners and losers.
AirHelp pulls each airline’s on-time arrival statistics for the last season to determine how likely they are to arrive on time. The company then factors in hundreds of metrics and details to give a measure of the quality given to customers both in the air and on the ground, before taking into account how efficiently and fairly a carrier handles compensation claims.
Qatar Airways topped the list of AirHelp’s best airlines, which isn’t surprising given the airline has won numerous accolades thanks to its stellar service and value for money. The airline recently rolled out a new business class called the Q-Suite, offering business travelers on-par tech, privacy and the opportunity to conduct business meetings while thousands of feet in the air. Those traveling in economy class are also treated to complimentary toiletries and some really tasty airline food. Qatar Airways are also home to the world’s largest airliner – the A380 superjumbo.
Coming in at the bottom of the list for worst airline according to AirHelp is WOW Air. AirHelp is reporting WOW, may not be so WOW after all, especially when dealing with flight delays, cancellations and that all-important customer service!
“The 2018 AirHelp score shows that as competition stiffens between airlines those that put passengers first will come out the winners in the long run,” AirHelp said in a press release. “We congratulate Qatar Airways who consistently puts customers first and has maintained its place in the top three since 2015 and is back at #1 this year.”
