Couple Sat Next to ‘Farting’ Dog on Plane Awarded Compensation

A couple seated next to a ‘snorting’ and ‘farting’ dog on a long-haul flight from Europe to New Zealand have been awarded a refund.
According to the Independent, Gill and Warren Press had paid extra for premium economy seats on the first 13-hour leg of their journey with Singapore Airlines from Paris to Singapore.
Unfortunately, the couple found themselves seated next to a ‘snorting’ emotional support dog with a gassy problem.
The Independent reports that when the couple asked if they could move, they were told the only available seats were at the back of the plane in economy – so they stayed put until the flatulence smell became too unbearable.
To make matters worse, the farting pooch was also taking up Mr. Press’ leg room.
The dog’s owner “couldn’t have the dog out in the aisle because they couldn’t get the trolleys through, so it had to come in further, which meant his head was under my husband’s feet,” said Mrs. Press in a statement reported by the Independent. “My husband was in shorts, and was getting the dog’s saliva goo on his leg.”
After multiple complaints, the couple finally received a reimbursement from Singapore Airlines, which they say they plan to donate to a New Zealand guide dog charity.
“It wasn’t about the money in the end,” she told the Independent. “The fight was more about principles and normalising things that really aren’t normal and acceptable.”
