Epic Universe Will Use Facial Recognition When it Opens in 2025

As the world anxiously awaits the opening of Universal’s Epic Universe, we are learning the theme park will use facial recognition when it begins welcoming guests in 2025.
According to Theme Park Tourist, Universal Destination and Experiences CEO Mark Woodbury revealed visitors will use the next generation facial recognition as they move throughout the new park.
Guests will use facial recognition photo validation technology to enter the park, to use their Express Pass – and they can also use their face as a credit card to pay for food and other services as they enjoy their day at Epic Universe.
“It’s the most technologically advanced park we’ve ever done,” Woodbury told the Hollywood Reporter. “And that speaks to both the attractions themselves, the next generation of robotics drone technology, all the way through to the guest experience. The full guest journey is really being taken to a whole new level.”
