Whilst our international travel plans may still be put on hold, LEGO is offering a way for globetrotters to document their favorite travel memories and future trips courtesy of its new – and very big – LEGO Art World Map.
The company unveiled their largest set to date this week with its new LEGO Art World Map containing the most pieces ever included in a set – a whopping 11,695 in total – and consists of 2D Lego tiles and 40 interconnecting base plates that are divided into three sections allowing builders to place their favorite part of the world in the center of the map.
“We know that our adult fans love to travel, but many haven’t been able to do so for over a year now. We thought that there was no better way of helping explore the world while relaxing in the comfort of their home than by allowing them to build, rebuild, plan and reminisce through building,” Fiorella Groves, Creative Lead for LEGO Art, said in a statement. “We hope the LEGO Art World Map will inspire new adventures in some, and help others relive and celebrate wonderful travel memories from the past.”
The set will feature customizable pins so users can mark off places on their bucket list, or pin countries they have visited. They can also customize the look of the oceans by following building instructions based on bathymetric mapping of the ocean floor, or arrange the tiles as they wish using their imagination.
The new set also comes complete with a coffee-table style instruction booklet, a white brick-built frame, and two hanging elements to make the finished map easier to display.
The LEGO Art World Map will be available from LEGO.com and LEGO stores globally beginning June 1, 2021, and will retail from $249.99.
