In celebration of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary, Florida’s Orange County has declared December 3 as “Walt Disney World Day.”

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings will be on hand to make the special declaration.
According to local station News6, a special community service event will take place following the proclamation at the Second Harvest Food Bank. Walt Disney World VoluntEARS will work alongside Walt Disney World leaders and local government officials sorting and packing food to help support families in the community.

“For 50 years, Walt Disney World Resort has served as a beacon of hope and happiness in the Central Florida area, bringing the beloved magic found across the resort to children and families in our neighboring communities,” Disney said in a press release.
