Universal’s Minion Land Opens This Week!

A new attraction called Minion Land, based on the popular “Minion” franchise from the animated film “Despicable Me,” is set to open on Friday at Universal Orlando Resort, Florida.
At the Orlando theme park, guests can enjoy interactive gaming and engage in villainous pursuits at Illumination Avenue in Universal Studios.
Universal has created an exciting new attraction called Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast. It is a unique shooting game experience that combines interactive game-based technology, custom animation, an original storyline, and immersive sets. The ride system consists of a moving walkway, similar to those found in airports or Universal’s parking areas. This attraction is suitable for all ages and has no height requirements. However, children under 48 inches must be supervised.

“Join Illumination’s Minions, Belle Bottom, Jean Clawed, and the rest of the Vicious 6 at Villain-Con as you blast your way to supervillain stardom,” Universal Orlando’s description reads online. “Use your E-Liminator X blaster and test your skill in this fun, interactive attraction.”
Minion Land also features a themed dining experience and meet-and-greet opportunities with characters from the movie, including the Minions, Gru, Margo, Edith, and Agnes.
The attraction is built in partnership with Illumination and expands on the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem attraction.
