Buckingham Palace Releases Official Coronation Invitation

Buckingham Palace has released the official invitation for King Charles’ coronation.
The colorful card, which will be sent to 2,000 lucky guests, refers to Camilla as Queen for the first time.

The official invitation for the Coronation of The King and The Queen Consort has been revealed.

Designed by Andrew Jamieson, the invitation features the Green Man, an ancient figure from British folklore, symbolic of spring and rebirth, to celebrate the new reign.

“The Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III & Queen Camilla,” the royal invite reads. “By Command of the King the Earl Marshal is directed to invite …. To be present at the Abbey Church of Westminster on the 6th day of May 2023.”
Incorporating King Charles’ love of flowers and sustainability, the invitation comes printed on recycled cards. It features a floral border that reflects a British wildflower meadow complete with bluebells, dog roses, lily of the valley, and wild strawberries. The flowers are all paired in groups of three to reflect that King Charles is the third King named Charles.
According to Buckingham Palace, the invitation also features small drawings of a lion, unicorn, and boar from the royal couple’s coats of arms. At the bottom of the invitation is an illustration of the Green Man, who, according to the Palace, is “an ancient figure from British folklore, symbolic of spring and rebirth, to celebrate the new reign.”

As the countdown to the Coronation continues, a new photograph of The King and The Queen Consort has been released.

Buckingham Palace also released a new photograph of the King and The Queen Consort, taken by photographer Hugo Burnand, the official photographer at their wedding in 2005.
