Machu Picchu Unveils Strict New Entrance Policy

If your 2019 plans include a bucket list trip to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Machu Picchu, you may want to become acquainted with their strict new entrance policy for all visitors.
Beginning on January 1st, tourists wanting to visit the site must now purchase a ticket to enter at a specific time (hourly from 6 a.m to 2 p.m), which expires after one hour.

The changes have been brought about by the Peruvian government due to overcrowding and long wait times. Tourists can now only stay at the site for four hours or less to help combat the number of people visiting the historic location.

One bit of good news is that tickets prices haven’t changed, however, The Points Guy are reporting entrance prices could increase by up to 20 percent by next year.
