Norwegian Air has announced they plan to ground most flights through April 2021.

According to The Points Guy, the low-cost air carrier currently has 95 percent of its aircraft currently grounded and doesn’t plan to resume long-haul international flights for at least a year.
In a meeting with bondholders, Norwegian predicted they won’t be fully operational under normal circumstances until January 2022.

The Points Guy reports the airline is currently operating 7 aircraft on short-haul Nordic routes through its “hibernation phase” until they gradually resume their European short-haul and long-haul flights in late spring 2021.

It is expected the airline will focus on re-introducing its more profitable long-haul flight routes first, including Los Angeles (LAX), New York (JFK), and London Gatwick (LGW).
