Thirty-six crew members aboard Hurtigruten’s MS Roald Amundsen have tested positive for the coronavirus, various media outlets confirm.

The cruise ship was among the first worldwide to resume sailings in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, however the ship is currently docked in Tromso, Norway with no passengers onboard.

According to a statement from Hurtigruten, all 158 crew members have now been tested with 36 crew members testing positive.

“Hurtigruten is in contact with all guests that were on board MS Roald Amundsen’s July 17 and 24 departures,” the cruise line said in a statement, adding, “209 guests from the first voyage and 178 guests from the July 24 departure will self-quarantine in line with Norwegian health authority regulations.”

The MS Roald Amundsen was scheduled to sail to Svalbard on Friday. That sailing has been cancelled and the cruise ship is not scheduled to set sail again until September.
